A comprehensive postnatal check-up

The Mummy MOT is an in-depth postnatal assessment that looks at the strength, activation and function of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles following childbirth. It is performed by a specialist postnatal physiotherapist and is recommended for all women following delivery.

Most women have a weakness in either the tummy or pelvic floor areas following the birth of their baby which creates instability and poor core strength. The result may be altered transfer of load, back pain, pelvic pain, bladder and bowel weakness. In order to avoid these distressing symptoms, get your tummy gap and pelvic floor tested and then start an optimal postnatal recovery program.

During your Mummy MOT appointment Sarah will assess and diagnose any problems you may have before providing a personalised rehabilitation program for you to get started with in your own time. An internal pelvic floor examination is offered as part of The Mummy MOT as it is often extremely helpful in diagnosing any problems. Sarah will explain what will happen during this and why it is useful but there will always be the option to say 'no' or 'maybe later' whenever you want, it's your choice.
